About The Peace Tree Foundation

The Peace Tree Foundation in a tax-deductible nonprofit organization founded in 1984 by
a couple of housewives who saw their children's fearful reaction to the cold
war. However improbable their prospects, the heroic effort of these two women
generated a series of peacemaking art and cultural exchanges between people of
Russia and the USA. Their success brought praise from the media where they are
named as effective peace activists and congratulated for their effective
citizen diplomacy. As the cold war thawed and our global environmental crisis
came to the foreground, PTF's focus shifted from the peace, part of their logo
to the tree, part through the Global Rivers Art Exchange. For more information
